If you believe that they're actually looking at somewhat recognizable FA's on the defensive side, here are the top guys available:

Joey Bosa
Haason Reddick
Bobby Wagner
Jadeveon Clowney
Von Miller
Kyle Van Noy
Kenny Moore

Ironically I think the vet FA I'd be most interested in is Taylor Decker if Guyton doesn't look improved, although that doesn't seem on their radar.

I think you can rule out Clowney since they've basically said he isn't a scheme fit, Bosa seems half-retired, and I don't think they're overly interested in DB's given how much they've invested at the position already.

None of these guys really move the needle though, they're just bandaids, which is why I think it's either a trade or nothing much.

Yeah me either.

The only way I entertain trading a premium pick for Crosby is if we're near the trade deadline, we're 6-2 or better at that point, he's having another elite year, and our defense is playing very well but just needs more pass rush.

At that point I would do it. But I see no reason to rush into trading for him or anyone else right now.

We have time to let things play out first.

Agree. That’s the only acceptable scenario. I believe it would have the maximum impact too.
 


This is who we were considering alongside Mazi in 2023, I think there's just something structurally off with how our FO evaluates DT's, although as bad as they are there they're equally as good on the OL in the first (Guyton aside).

At least they've seemingly thrown their hands up at taking them high in the draft and opted to make moves for established vets.
