Skattebo is a complete assclown and dipshit. Tony is nothing like that. Just curious what @boozeman is talking about.

That's if he was even being serious. Maybe he wasn't -- it's hard to tell.
 
He got a DUI? Dumb, but in the grand scheme of things, BFD. How many here have ever got a DUI? Or have driven drunk and should have multiple times, but was lucky enough to not to get arrested or God forbid, killed somebody? I have. I have no room to throw stones at him for this.

And on the longer vids now released, IMO he looks better than that first short one. Can't tell for sure of course, but I'm not sure he was even really impaired.

Bottom line, broadcasting sports isn't the same thing as being an NFL player or a company's CEO from a public accountability perspective.

The NFL, unlike CBS, is supposedly presenting heroes and champions, people others should aspire to in some way, and want to maintain a squeaky clean corporate image. so they add all these morality compliance requirements to every contract. The NFL's standards are different, and especially since Goodell took over. But CBS is a different entity.

No company I ever worked for, except those requiring me to maintain an active security clearance, would have given a shit had I been pulled over and gotten a DUI.

But I will say Tony Romo is a highly visible representative of CBS, and his close association with the NFL both as a broadcaster and a former player might raise the expectations of the public that he be fined or fired.

I think though there likely is no such policy in place in his contract, or it would have already been mentioned.

Besides, apparently first time OWI are considered civil offenses in Wisconsin with like a $300 fine. So, no laws broken.

Plus, this is the only controversy that he's ever been in, right? I'm not remembering anything else. It's a misdemeanor DWI, WGAF? He'll live it down. There are players in the league who lived down a lot worse.

I had 3 between the ages of 19 and 27.

I probably got pulled over falling down drunk half a dozen times from 16-19. One time, we were coming back from a keg party east of town, I had Metallica blaring on the stereo and just happened to look in my rear-view mirror and there was a cop lit up behind me, I have no idea how long he had been behind us. So I pulled over in a Domino's parking lot. Cop gave me a sobriety test while my buddy watched. He said, "Go straight home and let him drive." He was drunker than I was. We got around the corner and went to another party. Coming home from that one, we got pulled over again, different cop. He wants to look in my trunk where we have a cooler full of beer, and my other friend starts arguing with him and tells me, "You don't have to open it for them," loudly and boldly. I'm telling him to stfu so we don't all go to jail, just about that moment, another police car pulls up and it's the officer from the first stop. :lol "Brian, I thought I told you to go home?" Yeah, you did. We didn't. And they let me go again. This time we went home. It was pretty late. True story.
