These ESPN top 10 position rankings, which are based on polls of NFL execs/coaches/scouts, show why I'm bullish on what this team can be. Obviously these types of rankings are more backward-looking than anything, but it provides a general sense of where players stand across the league.
But even without calling out the specific ranks of specific players I think it's clear that we have a top 5-10 QB, a top 2 WR duo, a top 3 interior OL, a top 5 DT duo and a top 3ish safety group.
If you assume there are 11 position groups we're elite at 5 of the 11, plus guys who are probably top 10-12ish at RB and TE.
The only real cause for concern in my mind is OT, CB and ILB are question marks to varying degrees but we have proven talent there, it's just a matter of it coming together and/or staying healthy. OT is the only position where I can say I'm legitimately concerned about the talent level and recent play.
At the end of the day we have a roster that could easily be at the same level as the 2021-23 teams, which is to say a top 2-4 team in the NFC, although obviously there are more factors at play in terms of whether or not they can succeed in the playoffs than just what the talent level on the field is.
