But he’s lived through it, and it’s a good point he raised that teams will try and isolate a big OLB on a guy like AP in coverage.

Thats what you call a gaping whole in the ancient 3-4 parcels ran. But today’s 3-4 mixes in all kinds of athletic profiles to confuse OCs into not knowing how exactly to get the matchup they want.

At least when it’s run well

Parcells' 34 was already ancient when he ran it here.

Ellis had his best year and made his first Pro Bowl the first year Wade got here though.

And Parcells was never really an X's and O's mastermind in the first place, he was always more of a master motivator, team builder, etc.

Philosophically he preferred a 3-4 obviously but Belichick was the one running the actual scheme at basically every stop Parcells made, and then when he was here we had Zimmer cosplaying as a 3-4 DC when he had no real experience with it.

I have no doubt that with a legitimate 3-4 DC from the start our teams under Parcells would've looked much differently.

These offseason workout vids are always ridiculous, but in that one photo, is it me or does Lawrence look significantly bigger than Eze? We know how big Gary is, and I know he weighs more but here Lawrence looks to have just as big a frame.

EZ has always appeared undersized. Just a different frame. He either finishes making the adjustment to generating NFL level power or he’ll continue to be the “pressure” guy who never generates sacks.
