That's usually a good sign. Also sends a message to the team that the talent level is higher and folks aren't going to be make the roster simply out of favoritism.

We also have up and coming coordinators and possible future HC's at both OC and DC. It feels like it did when Parcells was at his best here.

Schotty is doing something right, because that talent doesn't just land on your team by accident.
 
The frustrating thing is that I don’t really like Schottenheimer. I think he’s a goofy looking weirdo.

I wish we had a tough coach that I could respect.

We…we felt that the image of Jason Garrett would somehow comfort you. Encourage you. He is making a big impact on his impact tours centering around motivation and how he has that gift.

Yeah, he's not that guy, but it's clear his years of experience and leaguewide network are not to be dismissed out of hand. And he's got X's and O's down as well as anyone offensively.

The dude either knows every coach or has worked with someone closely connected with them. The people he's coached and mentored over the years are also unique.

And face it, the kind of coach you are wanting is prolly going to chafe something fierce in Dallas under Jerry.

The network and open mindedness as far as getting cutting edge coordinators has been probably his best attribute so far. I think the offense is pretty well designed as well, not elite but better than it was under McCarthy in my opinion.

I don't think coaches like Parcells or Belichick even exist anymore. Even a guy who looks tough like Vrabel apparently isn't like that.

He’s overrated too, highly stubborn and you wonder how much a student of the game he’s been. Reminds me of another Cowboys ex-TE, Mike Ditka.

Elite coaches today, McVay, Shanahan, Payton, Vrabel, Macdonald know one side of the ball at the highest level and are very good decision-makers when it comes to running the football team. They aren’t “tough” like the old school coaches were— I mean they sound normal, not like they got a screw loose like Parcells often does.

Schotty has the coaching part down reasonably well, but his decision-making is constantly interfered with by the front office.

The best thing he can do is keep the front office off his guys and let them thrive. It seems like we got that from Klayton Adams last season and can only hope it continues on both sides of the ball.

I wasn't referring to him as the same level when it comes to being a quality coach. I was just more talking about his attitude and the way he handles players.
