He was also largely the architect of the 2007 team that was one of our best teams in the post-SB era, and you could argue the 2009 team was mostly his as well.

Except I highly doubt he ever would have signed “the Player” without the Joneses involvement, and honestly Owens WAS the passing game from 2006-2008. Witten was Romo’s security blanket and himself a dynamic player at the time, but Owens was the reason we could threaten any defense and win.

He was also fixated on Marcus Spears over Demarcus Ware, which was another mistake fricking Jerry of all people had to save us from. But the scouts still found Canty, Hatcher, and Ratliff to fit Parcells’ designs. In 2006, as he neared the end, he forced us to draft Bobby Carpenter when the guy was hopeless as a pass rusher.

But Spears and Barbie aside, the guy knew how to work the league, finding diamonds a.k.a. “Friends of Bill” here and there in Aaron Glenn, Terry Glenn, and Mark Colombo. Colombo helped us dump Tucker and without that influence Gurode became a serious player.

He also recruited some of the best coaching talent of the time, bringing in Sean Payton when people had left him for dead under Jim Fassell, Tony Sparano, Todd Haley, Gary Gibbs, and Todd Bowles. Four were future HC’s and Gobbs was KC DC for a while and has still found work around the league. Parcells worked well with Mike Zimmer, until he made the change to 3-4.

Without Payton, we’d have never found and signed Tony Romo.

So while I don’t think he could have done it himself, that team never would have come close to contending without him. He changed the org forever, TBH.

Even though he was a flash in the pan, he was responsible for Marion Barber too, which took a little sting out of the Julius Jones pick

Anybody with half a brain could've figured this is generally what it'll look like.

I think we'll see Ogbonnia a bit playing the 0/1T as well, with Bullard and Williams moving around, and probably Clark playing a little 3T here and there.

Meanwhile McCarthy had 3 straight 12 win seasons here, which Parcells did not accomplish. McCarthy won a playoff game, which Parcells did not do in Dallas either.

But hey, Bill knew how to spin a one liner and that's apparently the important part.

It's not, I don't think that Parcells' positive impact on the organization and how it's currently run can be overstated. As underwhelming as the team has been, I think it might be worse if he hadn't been here.

But there's a contingency of people who want to retrospectively disparage McCarthy's tenure and that's just not reality. The reality is McCarthy did a good job here and had the best results any coach has had here in 30 years.
 
Park didn't even say anything. It was interesting that the GPS chips in pads wasn't even for performance, but sounds like the league did it just for endorsement money.

And I still seriously doubt if he had that $50 million dollar budget it would make one bit of difference.
