Pettine's first thought on watching film:
Who TF is coordinating this defense? He sucks!
Does anyone listen to that podcast? For those who don't know, those guys famously quit the Ticket to go out on their own and start a podcast, but I haven't even thought of them for years and have a hard time believing they're doing that well.
That "Dumb Zone" account. That's Dan McDowell (Sturm's old sidekick) and Jake Kemp, who used to have the mid-day Ticket slot. What podcast is that?

Not sure the name of the actual podcast, maybe just Dumb Zone?
But, it does sound aptly named.Judging by the one minute clip it doesn't seem great.
That's what I've never understood about these puppets like Campo, Garrett, Schotty, etc.
I get it if you're a few games into season 1. Hell, I'll even give you the entire first season to be an obedient dog.
But once you're in season 2 or later and things are looking bleak? I never understood why these guys didn't just do things the way they wanted to. When you can see the writing on the wall as Campo surely did in 2002, Garrett in 2019, McCarthy in 2024, etc. , I never understood why at that point, why aren't you just taking full control and telling Jerry to shove it?
If he fires your midseason, you're still getting your money. And even better, I think you come out looking like the good guy.
Imagine the headlines if it's week 6 and you get fired because as the HC, you said it was your decision who plays and who doesn't, etc.?
EVERYONE would take the coaches side.
So good on Schotty for showing SOME backbone with what he said yesterday about CP being in the booth.
If you're gonna drown, might as well drown doing it your way.
I think the three of them, each having common connections, hashed something out to make it work.I think it has the potential to be a pretty bad dynamic. Pettine probably should be reporting directly to Parker.

Pettine is coming out of retirement to help, I don't get the vibe that they are equal competitors.
I feel like it's more of a Sparano helping Garrett situation than two equal coordinators. With the exception that CP actually knew and called Pettine, of course
