I don't think I like the Spann Ford extension. Not that he's that bad, but it just seems like the type of guy you churn when it's time to get paid. $6 million a year seems like a lot for a backup TE.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the logic is that he could be our starter by like 2028 if Ferguson kind of stagnated.

Even if not, 6/year makes him like the 30th highest paid TE, and by this time next year it'll probably be like 33rd.

If they cry poor about not being able to keep Pickens then I'll complain, but a deal like this doesn't make or break anything.
