You thought Moose was Randy White?

ohh . cant wait.

I am not going to pretend that he will have much of a season. To me, he looks like he is on the downside.

But if he reverts to even what he was a couple of years ago, it would be huge.

Even if he's in decline he's still a very solid starter, something like 6 or so sacks, strong run D and so forth.

Calling it a competition tells me they're about a ding-a-ling away from giving up on Guyton.
I wonder too if it's just a way to push him harder. We know he has toughness and head questions. Maybe they think they've been a little too cuddly with him and decided to be clear that he better get it in gear.

With all of the interviewing going on with 1st round picks, it just seems inexcusable that they wouldn't be able to identify this.

Probably, they have to do something because it's now or never.

He's on that Mazi plan right now.

I guess I'm in the minority but I think he plays better than Steele. Certainly in terms of pass protection I think he is better than Steele.

If I'm worried about creating a competition I think Steele is closer to the starter I want to dump than Guyton. But I guess he stays healthy at least.

I think they may have started overlooking the character piece for a while, which is why Schottenheimer seemed to come in emphasizing leadership, guys who were captains, etc.

Almost all of the high round busts the last few years have pretty clearly been chucklefucks off the field in terms of Trysten Hill, Mazi, Kelvin Joseph, Sam Williams and possibly now Guyton.

Schoonmaker is the only guy we've taken in the top two rounds in the last 5+ years who I can say busted because of pure talent reasons without any clear off field/character issues, and we clearly took him a round too early when it happened.

They're both shit for different reasons, only difference is Guyton has the talent that could come together at some point.

They probably suspected (since this same thing happened his last year at OU) but just gambled they could make it work.

And I get it, you aren't getting a flawless LT at the bottom of the first without a ton of luck. So any prospect there has some kind of issue.

See I don't think Guyton is complete shit.

Mazi, that's what complete shit looks like.

Guyton I see a guy who is serviceable when healthy. He doesn't kill a game plan for you. The injuries are what bother me with him.

Steele? His pass protection is downright embarassing sometimes. He has the potential to kill a game plan with his pass blocking at any moment. But of course his run blocking is very solid. And he stays healthy.
