2026 OTAs and Minicamp Thread...

what would you all consider the best case scenario, for the type of coach Schottenheimer could be? (i'm mainly referring to personality)

Pete Carroll?

Yeah, for a player's coach, Carroll is probably the prototype.

When you combine that with sort of his general demeanor I think it's something to keep an eye on. He could easily turn it around and it may have just been a blip, but if not I could see him being the type of HC who just isn't capable of whipping his players into shape the way a SB contending team needs to be.

I agree although I think if your OC and DC have the right demeanor that isn't as much of a problem. Schotty still calls offensive plays but to some extent I still think of him as more of a walk around head coach.

We know.

Choice of ST coach as well.

Technically you are correct that its not fair to judge him on a season where the defense was so bad. Add in not only trading Parsons but so late in the process as well.

I think this year will tell us a lot. It seems like player wise the team has a fighting chance now.

Unless Parker is a complete lemon we should be a top 10 team in the league barring major injuries, so they definitely have a chance.

Yeah the only thing I pump the breaks on a little with Parker is that I think he is going to want to run a complex scheme. And it may just take some time to get it running like a well oiled machine. And it may take more than one offseason in terms of rebuilding the defensive roster. I think it's only a matter of time before he gets everything dialed in I just don't know that you'll see immediate massive turnaround. But as the season goes on I think things will get better.
