I agree, a player is as pro ready as he looks right now. Mesidor right now is a far superior player to Faulk. So yes, Mesidor is more pro ready.

The question with Faulk is all about upside. And what he could grow into by the time he is 25. No different than in baseball when you take a highschool player vs a college player. The college players are usually better players. But you're betting that the 18 year old will become something greater than he is today.
