well given our track record we pick better at the top so really that third is going to be what? An injured player from a Division 3 school?

They aren't on Surtain's level in my opinion as prospects, they're probably both about even with Horn, maybe even a bit better purely as prospects.

Surtain became a stud so I think sometimes people forget what he was as a draft prospects. But even than I thought he was a certifiable stud coming out. I actually remember wondering how it was a question of who is better, Horn or Surtain. But that's what happens with the draft, guys who are at the top (Like Downs) get picked apart over time.

All similar level to a guy like Devon Witherspoon who went 5th overall to the SeaHawks.

Yes but I remember what I thought of Surtain as a prospect, I had him below Chase/Sewell but above Parsons/Slater and thought he was a bona fide top 5-7 prospect in the class, which was significantly stronger than this one.

I think Delane and McCoy are just a shade below that tier, although I could see either of them developing into a similar caliber player, I just see more risk with each of them. They'd have been 12-15ish types in that class for me, like Horn.

Surtain was as clean as possible, nothing off the field, elite production, elite size, Delane and McCoy have some risk factors that he didn't.
 
I like Lawrence, but in no world is he a better rusher than Bailey. And really not even Methusidor or Howell. I haven't watched much of Thomas so I don't know about him.
 
Ahem, the DCC has been on M-Law :unsure for months now...

(Wouldn't say better than Bailey or a few others though.)
