2026 NFL Draft Chatter

shutting down schools because the draft is in town :doh

Eh. I think it's fine. You dinosaurs think they're shutting down school but they're just doing remote learning.

My son's school did it this year for a day rather than take another snow day. It's not really a big deal in the 21st century.

Most kids are dismissed around 3 (don't ask me how I know that) and the draft doesn't start until 7. The Thursday/Friday evening selections have been a thing since 2010, and other cities have accommodated it just fine.

Yeah our schools have like the first 4 snows days set up this way before they actually have to make anything up. They also do 4 day school weeks where Monday is considered a "distance learning day."
