Probably has more to do with him being a hometown boy.Weird that they'd be interested in him at his age but he'd be a good fit. Surprised he's considered a strong candidate, I kind of thought this was more of a courtesy but if he's withdrawing his name elsewhere this might be serious.

Right, that's why I thought it would be a courtesy more than anything but it seems to be a serious thing. He doesn't fit their normal profile but I guess they're willing to think outside the box.
Personally I think he can win big there.
Only thing is, will he have a QB? The earlier reports said Rodgers wasn't expected back.Right, that's why I thought it would be a courtesy more than anything but it seems to be a serious thing. He doesn't fit their normal profile but I guess they're willing to think outside the box.

It would be funny if they were both there to see Rodgers walking back his supposed claims about how stupid and lazy McCarthy was. That's definitely the big concern. But if Seattle can win with Darnold, maybe they can find someone.
There are conflicting reports on whether Rodgers would be back, and also whether he'd even want to play for McCarthy so I guess we'll see.

This is such an overplayed, lazy trope. They haven't done dick since a generational type QB started getting old, then left town but sneak into the playoffs then lose. And he'd do very well getting a chance to coach for a real organization again.
They've actually done what we have done. Build one side of the ball and neglect the other. The only difference being, they focus more defense while we go offense.
Don't know, don't care. Because ultimately, what has it accomplished in either place? You guys are really going to tell me that there's not much difference in the culture and atmosphere between Dallas and Pittsburgh?

I already mentioned our owner loves to open his big mouth whenever he can to the media, while theirs doesn't. Which sets the tone for the supposed "culture". But again... what has it accomplished for Pittsburgh?
There is certainly a difference. I'm just not prepared to say the Steelers are a shinning star of a well run organization.
So Pittsburgh is an example you'd use as a well run organization. Cool. But it's not just that he talks and you know this.
It's about the circus atmosphere, football not being the priority, the lack of a winning culture, and everything else that comes with the terrible management of the organization.
What good is it if we do things a little better than this team or that team if there's always a ceiling for each and every team no matter how talented they are? A ceiling that exists due to all of the aforementioned things that I mentioned.
I don't care how similar our record is to Pittsburgh's over the last 10 years or so. If you give me the option starting today to continue running the organization the Jones way or the Rooney way, I'm taking the Rooney way every single time.
