2026 Draft Week Chatter Thread...

Genius negotiating by Rosie. Threw in a 7th round pick on the house when they already had a done deal. :picard

That's not what I'm hearing.

Stephen said "our 7th next year?" Then Roseman said something that's hard to hear but presumably they asked for a pick this year because Stephen responded that basically they're done giving up picks this year.

Then Stephen said "I'll throw you a next year's 7th."

THEN Roseman said "Ok, we got a deal."

Roseman hadn't agreed to anything prior to Stephen throwing in the 7th from what I can tell.

Jones mentioned the seventh next year, and then Howie suggested something else involving this year's picks, and Jones said "No, we can't give up anything this year," and they went back to the seventh next year. If we called them about the trade, than I can see us throwing in the 7th, but if they called us, then it's a slight overpay.

It might be a slight overpay but that's different than saying we gave them a free pick after a deal was already agreed to. That certainly doesn't seem accurate.

The director of college scouting LaPoint said they had 12 first round grades and that it's usually 12-16 each year.

Based on how he described it, if I had to guess they were:

The top 6 defensive players (supposedly Bain would've been the pick if Downs was gone so I assume Bain was one of them)
Love
Mendoza
Tyson
Ioane (logically he'd be one given how similar he is to Booker)
Tate

Not sure who the 12th might be but probably one of the OT's.
