2026 Draft Week Chatter Thread...

This is the fourth...

But I agree, really good fit for DE in this defense. Also if you're wondering about his weight he weighed 287 at the Alabama proday. So my guess is he dropped weight to try and run better at the combine but I think this is a 290 pound 2 gap kind of guy.
I meant rest of the slop.

Lookit. I have not yet hit the doob, but I can do a few shots and be ready for a scrap in about 30 minutes:

I'll say this... Getting Overton in the 4th makes me waaaaay happier than getting Faulk in the first would. Hell, they're probably not that far separated with what they'll provide a defense.
I think Overton can form complete coherent sentences too.

Broaddus on LT Overton
  • Where to play him? Better at 4I than edge
  • Played up and down the line
  • Power and strength
  • Decent at point of attack
  • Body type is between 3-tehnique and edge, but not really explosive
  • Didn't see lots of speed pass rush, more power rush
  • Didn't see great hand usage
  • Can be disruptive once he gets moving, but takes time get moving off the snap
  • Hope we can coach him up and develop pass rush

Prysock was a pet cat for the 5th
Same here.

Also with you on Overton. Osa not useful but this guy is? Not sure about making a guy gain 15- 20 lbs before he has a position.

Overton is a very good Osa replacement, I’m surprised to hear about the 287, though. If true, then this was an outstanding pick because he’s that much less of a project.

Yeah, didn’t know he was that heavy. He’s solid, good pick.

Osa and Overton are completely different players. Osa is a 3tech that attacks with speed and power to slip gaps. Overton will be a 5tech that attacks with power and eats blocks. I think trying to use Osa as a 3-4 end wouldn't have worked very well.
