2026 Draft Week Chatter Thread...

Here's why I'm not overly worried about the ILB situation:

Chargers: Daiyan Henley, Troy Dye
Patriots: Christian Elliss, Robert Spillane
Seahawks: Ernest Jones, Drake Thomas
Broncos: Alex Singleton, Justin Strnad

That's probably 4 of the top 7 or so defenses last year and they're all starting a bunch of JAG's and former UDFA's.

Of course I'd love more talent there because we don't have many other clear holes but teams have had very good defenses with similar or worse than what we have. The real issue becomes if Overshown misses significant time, but if you guarantee me he plays 13 or so games, we'll be fine.

If we didn't have Downs I'd be more concerned but he's going to be playing in the box as a pseudo LB quite often.

Well now we have to draft a corner to be able to stop a badass like Malachi Fields, only chance we have to beat the Giants now.

OK, sorry Booze, I know I promised to stop trying to be funny.

DC.com arguing over Zachariah Branch dropping and one guy brings up Percy Harvin as a comp that had a lengthy NFL career. That's a deep pull

Totally overrated off his Senior Bowl practices.
Just read his scouting report.

Fields is a long, big-bodied receiver. Though he's not a vertical threat, he has dynamic traits and backed it up with good testing numbers at the combine. He is efficient at getting in and out of breaks, with great deceleration ability at the top of routes, and he shows some burst out of his cuts. Fields does a good job of not telegraphing his routes, though he did not run the largest route tree. He plays strong through contact, and he provides a big catch radius. -- Scouts Inc.

Well, that's nice.

Clearly he isn't going to play this year at all. I'm all the way out with the Diggs bone plug issue. Talk to me when we start the greatest fourth round of all time. The fourth that builds the next Doomsday defense.
I snicker every time I read this.

Teams won’t be thrown by McCoys knees for long. Dude makes plays and his workouts showed elite speed and change of direction.

There is no need to rationalize this.

It is what we do. We leave a hole and fail to properly address it.
