2026 Draft Week Chatter Thread...

Feh.

I am more interested in how Spaulding missed a lot of high fives.

Okay, so I have slept on it. And, I still can't believe that we handled that first round like we did. It was like I was watching a different team operate the draft. Solid trade moves. More than solid picks. Filled big needs. Came away with better draft capital than what we started with. It just all seems so surreal.

Taking another small/midget WR to go with Smith doesn't seem like the best plan with a QB like Hurts who isn't exactly a precision passer.

Feels like Roseman trying to win the headline/narrative with everyone knowing Brown is gone.

With literally everyone knowing Brown is gone and they HAVE to trade him at this point, the eagles better get pretty much nothing for him.

Still trying to wrap my mind around trading up to get Caleb Downs, and still ending up with a better list of draft picks than when we started. Swapping two late fifths for high and mid fourth round picks seems too good to be true. While getting one of the better pass rushers along the way.

Maybe we need to start having Spaulding sitting at the table all the time.
:unsure

Hell, it's even better than it sounds. Going from 177 to 114 is like 63 spots, just about 2 full rounds better. Even 180 to 137 is 43 spots.

Really good work.

I had the same thought. He even does the blind man, no eye contact, head bob thing.

He had the same weird thing going on at the Senior Bowl. I don't want to make fun if the guy is autistic or something.
He isn't autistic. He is a freaking weirdo diva from what I could tell. Fits the Eagles perfectly.

I love these type videos. And, holy shit he has a big family. :lol

They are going to have to cut the circus part out of at least the earlier rounds. You can't be behind 3 damn picks. And, no, I don't want to go back to 10 mins. Fix the broadcast not the pick times.

The pundits weren't too high on M-Law where we picked him. Don't really care. We know what we got. And he is going to fix a lot of what was ailing our defense last year. Dude has elite explosiveness and bend. I just wish I had started watching him earlier in the draft season. Anyway, here are my short thoughts on the 1st round.

Biggest get: Has to be Downs. We were a bit lucky that so many OL went as early as they did. But, using the 2 fifths to move up the one spot to get him was well worth it. He is the most versatile DB in this class. Just like M-Law he will fix a lot of what was wrong with the D last year.

Biggest reach: Simpson and it really isn't all that close. Only started one year in college. Had injuries the entire year he started. He is far from accurate. His completion percentage was god awful. He can't move in the pocket. Just a terrible decision to take him in the first.

Weirdest pick: That would go to the Wonder kid, Lemon. His interview was just odd. On top of his Stevie Wonder impression, he completely turned his back on the woman interviewing him. Just a really odd duck.

Funniest post of the night (was after I went to bed) but it gave me a good laugh this morning.

As an aside, telling your wife she is a “dick-faced dream crusher” in advance of the Cowboys pick may not be the path to matrimonial bliss.

Even if it turns out she’s not.

Chicks are weird.

It was a good night, fellas. Enjoy it while you can. Who knows how long it will be before we get to feel this way again after day one.
