Have to say, he's less physically talented obviously, but the offense does seem smoother and more efficient with Howell in there.

I like it.

I think we need to keep 3 QBs on the roster.

I'd keep Howell because you know he brings a baseline of competence.

Milton is way more talented, and probably just the better QB with his development, but I think it's worth a spot to keep Howell in case Dak misses a few games and Milton reverts back to a bonehead.

Problem is Howell has bonehead in him to. See last preseason game.

One thing one of the radio guys mentioned that I forgot, they guaranteed I think half of Howell's contract. So I'm sure the Jones Boys would hate to waive him and take a chance on someone claiming him.

One of the things driving the Howell narrative from people here who haven’t watched him play extensively is the 21 INTs thing. It was a lot and he does have some “bonehead,” as people say, he is a gambler, but, through Washington’s first ten games that year he was 17 TDs, 9 INTs, 2700+ yards. Then they just fell apart as a team and he ended with 21 and 21.

Maybe Milton wins this job but then it’s because we have the best QB situation we have ever had. Howell doesn’t just have a “baseline.” He has just as much upside as Milton does, he just doesn’t have the raw physical tools…. in the same sense that Tony Romo didn’t have the raw physical tools of Randall Cunningham.

I think the last 5ish roster spots come down to these guys:

Howell
C. Brown
Mafah
Keegan
Leverett
Cornelius
Liufau
Sam Williams
Curtis Robinson
Alijah Clark
Julius Wood
Toia

I think they keep the marginal 4th round rookies, there aren't 5+ guys on that list who are so good you can justify cutting bait on a 4th rounder after 4 months.

I'm not going to pretend like I know what's going on with Bullard's health or whether or not they sign someone off the street to the 53, so for now I assume Bullard will be on the 53 and that they won't sign a vet, so for right now I'd say they keep Howell, Brown, Leverett, Liufau (pending whatever injury he had tonight) and Clark.

Something to keep in mind is that Liufau played the second most snaps on the team last year after Goodwin, I think that will keep him around over someone like Williams or Robinson.

Wouldn't the other team pick up that guarantee? Or was it a signing bonus?
