2026 Cowboys Free Agency Thread…

Kind of funny how now people are bemoaning the fact Osa is no longer on the team. For a 3rd rounder, no less. But last year he was being shit on an as overpaid underachiever. Never happy, I guess.
I can promise you I never called him that. I have been a fan of Osa's ever since we got him. He really impressed me. He impressed me enough I highly doubt we can possibly replace him with an almost 4th rounder.

I agree with that, but could change if these moves are being made to bring someone else in.
But, right now, we are a worse defense than we were last year. And that's what people were saying, and they are correct.

Where are you basing this on though?

I don't agree with that at all.

We've lost Osa, who was going to be a rotational guy and some backups. And added two starters and other depth pieces. Along with a new Dcoordinator who should be worlds ahead of the guy he replaced.

Probably that Gary isn't a huge upgrade over Clowney considering JDC was pretty good last year.

Otherwise we gained the Cards safety, Brokeneck Safety, and a backup NT, and lost two of our four best DLmen.

Just losing Clowney, Fowler, and Osa immediately makes the defense worse. While only adding a LBer that isn't even an every down backer and a good but not great safety. The defense, IMO, is worse now than it was when the day started.

Fowler is a who gives a shit. What did he do here last year to have anybody lament his loss?

And I think we're better off with Gary and Thompson than we were with Clowney and Osa. And it's not like we just cut Osa. We did get a good draft pick in return.

We might be slightly worse personnel wise right now but I don't think they're done in FA and then obviously we're going to spend about every pick in the draft on the defense.
