2026 Cowboys Free Agency Thread…

Yeah, the team needs to be stockpiling assets. I’m not sure what big free agent moves are left so this is signaling Crosby to me potentially.

Which is bad because we need more pieces not less, certainly not for a 30 year old with an injury issue.

He is 28 sir, soon to be 29.

This all feels like it has to be leading to something though. Because these are rebuilding team moves, not busting the budget moves.

It hasn't been that bad, if they had signed Dean or whatever we'd all be ecstatic, missing out on a LB doesn't take me from ecstatic to "everything is terrible".

They've done better, the defense will be better, but as usual they haven't done quite enough to put us in position to be a strong SB contender.

But I do think we'll be much closer to the 2021-23 teams next year than the 2024-25 teams.
It’s just the same old shit though, just a version or 2 better. We may have a better team, but as of now there’s nothing that’s happened to make anyone believe we are a SB caliber team, which is all Jerry blabbered about. So once again, it’s the man in the mirror pump up speech while in reality it’s the man in the FunHouse mirror result…again.

The timing of it does seem like it has to be Crosby, or something close. Otherwise why not do this earlier?

Who am I kidding, it's probably that some Spaulding cousin just hijacked the phones this afternoon.

Jonathan Allen would be a smart move, we have the Vikings DL coach on staff after all.

Welcome back, bro.
It actually kinda sucks because it felt nice having a smidge of hope again after the coaching hires. Instead, I should just have my damn head examined.

I'll be back more positive I'm sure. But so far this few agency period has sucked.

I guess at least this seems like they're planning something. They can't have just decided to unload these guys all of a sudden. (Actually they could have, I know. )

This feels light. Like a second is probably too much, but maybe this should have been a third and fifth.

Yeah I mean to be fair, they were speculating on the radio earlier today that they'd get a 4th or maybe even just a fifth back for Osa so thankfully this is actually better than that.

My big complaint isn't that they didn't get market value for him, it's that he's more valuable to us than a third. They didn't have to trade him and I feel like this was a money move.

Unless they absolutely stun me in the draft, I feel even worse about this defense now than I did when FA started and I didn't think that was even possible. They trade for Crosby or fuck the draft up, the slogan comes back.

Kind of funny how now people are bemoaning the fact Osa is no longer on the team. For a 3rd rounder, no less. But last year he was being shit on an as overpaid underachiever. Never happy, I guess.

Yeah I mean I said a third like a day or two ago. So I am glad we at least got what I think is correct value.

But ultimately it is getting worse unless we actually add players now.

It's fine if it's a money move that they then do something else with.

Signing Allen or trading for Greenard and banking a 3 would actually be shrewd, dicking around with your cap because you like spreadsheets is pointless faggotry.

Wait.... How are worse? Even with Osa gone?

We've got a real safety and Gary is a better player at his position than what we had before.

I get the disappointment in not getting a LB, but there is no way the personnel is worse right now than what we had to end the season with.
