2026 Cowboys Free Agency Thread…

Guy that played when Parker was there. I guess he knows the player.

I guess maybe one of those, we need guys who have played for the coordinator to help install the system and help with the culture. Spinal fusion surgery and a safety just don't seem like a good fit to me.

Huh, who?

Like I'm not going to be upset but these are the signings that I'm sort of like, why not just get some good players. 29 year old backup safety. Not much money or anything like that, but why waste money on a guy like this? Can someone else explain it to me? Couple of these guys and you could have had a real legit starter.

Rotational safety who played under Parker in Denver, probably won't start but he should be good depth.

I don't mind it, but you have to wonder what else they could've done instead with regard to the $8M combined they gave to Williams and this guy.

Nakobe Dean first year cap hit with the Raiders. 7.9 mil

Kind of the point I guess I was getting at. Like why? And I get it Dean picked the Raiders over us. But the look at the first year cap hits of every other free agent LBer. It's not going to be far off.

He was a full time starter in 2024, nearly led their defense in snaps, so that's something.

And then he broke his neck and had spinal fusion surgery. And only started 3 games. And prior to 2024 was never a full time starter.

Anyway, this is beginning to feel more like typical Cowboys free agency.

Yep.

I think Locke could be valuable as a pseudo-starter, but Williams is basically a waste of space.

They signed Hufanga though who basically took his role, so I could see him being a solid rotational guy who plays maybe 30-40% of the snaps.

Practically anyone we get on that side of the ball will have a history with one of them. They sure are putting more trust in them compared to previous staffs that had proven coaches.

I don't think Geng is going to be impressed...

I guess the positive about Locke is that he is the caliber of player that has been a crown jewel our recent FA classes. Take that haters.
