2026 Cowboys Free Agency Thread…

There are still a few LBs that would be just fine.

No, of course they didn’t. They are always operating from a place where they are surprised and sticker shocked. That’s one of the big reasons why they don’t do free agency. Their mindset is dramatically out of date.

Even in a year that they went in expecting to actually, truthfully “leave it all on the table” the best they could muster was a 3/36 deal on a decent safety. They had to trade for a player with a 4 year old contract in order to stomach the dollars!

Yep. And I would be fine with Chenal, Elliss, or Steve McQueen.
Really don't want to trade another pick away. Just sign someone.

Yea I like Gary but I'm tired of how they use picks to get around having to figure out how to actually craft contracts that fit well.

They're so out of practice with FA that they got caught with their pants down at the position.
Who knows, maybe they have all kinds of contingencies drawn up and the guys they're interested in are just asking for too much.

But it sure seems like they just zero in on two or three guys, and if those players get signed, they have no idea what to do. I can almost see them scrambling to watch film last night and this morning on the remaining guys when that should all be done already.

They do the same thing in the draft at times. They either have 1-2 guys in mind and don't know where to go if they are gone, or they zero in on position and end up reaching bad. I have said it ad nauseum but things just feel different this year. Let's see what today brings us.

Have you seen those 3 picks in the fifth round. You can't possibly draft 3 players in the same round. That would be crazy.

They are already burning a hole in Jerry's pocket. Now tell me we can have Fred Warner and I'll gladly sling those bad boys out.

What am I missing?

Why would Fred Warner even be available?

They have too few players on their board, and too many guys that they take off it for unknown reasons, as we have experienced many times.

"Oh there are only 11 first round players this year," they say, in a first round that has 32 selections.
