2026 Cowboys Free Agency Thread…

I don't think he is dumb. Not really sure where that is coming from. At least he wasn't when he was coming out of college unless he has fried his brain since.
Not dumb in a real sense, but football dumb depending on what you are asking him to do.

I hate stumping for CBs but you know we are drafting one early if we don’t sign one

How do you pick the Raiders in that situation? Like do you want to lose? Just not sure I believe this one. Had he gone to the Rams or something I would understand.
Maybe he's a player that doesn't give a shit about competing for trophies. Maybe the money was around the same from both teams, but the draw of those Vegas lights were the deciding factor for a young single guy with millions in his pocket.

I think the plan might be a safety who has the versatility to play some slot.

If Delane is there I think they'd take him but I doubt they take McCoy given the injury stuff.

Honestly, if they can unleash in FA for the first time in decades we can let the draft focus on getting the best possible players.

I've been of a "trade down" mentality and likely still will be, but if Dallas can answer most of its glaring weaknesses questions with trades and FA signings it puts a whole lot less pressure on the draft's need to flesh out depth.

Whether he's good or not, the Gary signing was clearly a commitment to a "win now" type season. You don't trade away a future cheap player for a 19 million dollar cap hit otherwise. So there's hope all this cap clearing will actually be used in free agency
These kind of signings are what the Rams, Seattle, etc have done…filling out major holes in their rosters with older quality players but at the same time they have done really well in their drafts, picking up key contributors on cheap rookie deals.

It’s something that Dallas will need to improve in based on past experience.

Broadus said that's what he heard from some teams about him, but "his Jags guys wouldn't give him anything". It was a few minute diatribe on 105.3 this afternoon. Just went back and listened.

"Questions about his smarts picking up stuff. Pro scout told him to watch the Buffalo playoff game. Game winning points scored by something he did. He's kind of a B-, C+ player. Love the guy, but wouldn't pay him as a player. If you watch him play a bunch he's in the wrong spot 50% of his snaps. Kind of a one year wonder."

Broadus said CP wants smart guys who know where they need to be most of the time. Not worth $15-20 million per.

It's Broadus and one or two scouts so take it with a grain of salt.

I mean Broadus is a retard so I don't give a shit about his opinions. But he may know if the Cowboys aren't interested. And honestly I know Lloyd is out of our price range. I just don't agree with his evaluation.

And I feel like some of it is sour grapes coming from the Jags. The Packers fans think Gary is washed and they have no idea what the fuck they are talking about.

Hell, I don’t give a shit. He is too pricey and dumb or not, does not seem like a scheme fit.

Wiśniewski is not likely to be drafted. He was snubbed by the elites.
You also think Jordyn Brooks is a dime a dozen LBer, so forgive me if I don't give a lot of weight to your opinion.
