2026 Cowboys Draft Chatter Thread

The big thing I'm wondering about right now is how much does the team like Bain?

Because if they like him, I could easily argue that you should just hold tight and see what happens around 9-10. I think Delane could possibly slip to 12 but Bain seems the most likely when reading the tea leaves.

If they don't like him for whatever reason, that's where I think you'd have to be a bit more urgent about moving up or back at 12.

Yeah I don't think they like Bain unfortunately.

I'd be surprised if Delane lasts unless someone in the top 10 takes McCoy. It's pretty rare for no CB to go top ten although I know it happened a couple years ago. But I feel like that would be an anomaly.

Especially since a couple teams like KC for example REALLY need one.

It's a good example of how trading up can be a good move if we're basically just moving down from 20 to 35-40 as the compensation.

I don't see a significant difference in the type of guy we can get at 20 vs. 35ish.

It's not my preference but if they handle it right they could pull it off.

But I don't trust them.

We could take Styles and then end up in the rest of the draft with a giraffe, a cripple and a seat belt.

While it’s difficult to part with Pick 20 in the process, Dallas was likely going to be wiped out of top defenders if it sat back and drafted at 12. In this mock, the best defenders available at 12 were Auburn edge rusher Keldric Faulk, Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy and Oregon safety Dillon Thienemen.

This happens to me about 80% of the time doing mock drafts.

Breer basically said that McCoy's knee is as bad or worse than the Will Johnson situation last year that dropped him to the 40's.

So basically you can write him off completely at 12 and maybe even 20.
