I read something that was suggested that Milton did not feel he got the best explanation (what he wanted to hear). I don’t think he could start anywhere. What team’s backups are worse? There are a few but not as many as you think.

I don't know but Schotty confirmed the other teams interest in Milton prior to the cut deadline. So maybe there was something where Milton expressed he felt like he got a raw deal or something. I'm not sure.

If it's close why not keep both? If not both why not keep the guy with more upside? Still just doesn't really compute other than money and "experience."

But the experience thing to me gets overplayed. At one point Kellen Moore sat above Dak on the depth chart because he was the guy with the experience on his side. Small, weak arm and just not good enough for the NFL. But his experience gave him the edge. Just glad he got hurt otherwise who knows if Dak see's the field his rookie year. In hindsight we all know Dak was a far superior QB. But Kellen Moore was the experienced guy who could make better reads.

I don't think Joe Milton is the next Dak so I certainly wouldn't overreact. But it just seems to me like this was a poor decision. Unless there is something I don't know.

I actually think based on what they showed that each has starting ability in this league if guys like Jacoby Brissett are starting. And yes I would have kept both.

But Milton doesn’t have more upside. Howell is actually younger and has thrown for 4000 yards in this league and has tremendous arm talent. His only thing is he needs to fix some decision making.

I mean I like Speed more than Carson at corner. I'd have him active on game day as the fourth corner. Maybe you don't need all 6 safeties active.

Came down to 1) preserving the roster spot and 2) prioritizing this year over the future. That was it. They’ve already said they’d be happy to sign Milton to the PS
