A few interesting notes based on snaps played last night and various positional battles:

Tyrus Wheat: 26; Sam Williams: 34; James Houston: 7 (all on the first drive)
Shemar James: 18; Curtis Robinson: 25; Justin Barron: 33
Camden Brown: 17
Drew Shelton, Trevor Keegan and Leverett all played 60 snaps (every play), Nate Thomas only played 35, all in the first half
Julius Wood: 38 (played through the 4th); Alijah Clark: 32 (none in the second half)

If you assume that the less snaps played, the better your chance of making the 53, or the more settled your role is, I think this shows some interesting things:

-Nate Thomas is definitely ahead of Shelton, and if anything happens to Steele I'd assume Thomas is the first man up, might even be the first man up at LT too with Tyler Smith being the "break in case of emergency" option
-James Houston is the clear 5th OLB
-Sam Williams is probably gone, Wheat might have a shot with Liufau out due to his ST experience
-Brown only playing 17 snaps and basically getting pulled after the 1st quarter probably means he's on the 53
-Barron is a PS guy despite the Rams practices, Robinson is probably a toss-up thanks to the Liufau injury
-Clark is probably ahead of Wood, maybe a toss-up at best, but Wood definitely isn't clearly ahead of him like some fans believe just because he's gotten a little publicity over the last few weeks
-Shemar James is in no real trouble of getting cut

Burning picks on a fucking zero that wasn't even picked up for a fifth year. You guys were waiting on the other foot to drop on an otherwise, pretty good offseason. Here it is. Retardism at its finest.
 
Hmmm. Going down from third to fourth and kicking in a 6th. Is he just depth or is he displacing Steele? He started 38 games the past 3 years.

Just fucking stupid. This is like going from picking Barham in the third to Shelton in the fourth.

And for a backup? Unless I'm missing something.

I think they're going to let him compete with Steele to start once he gets up to speed.

They definitely overpaid, but that probably means they see him as a possible starter.
 
I don't think it's really a big overpay. They drop a round from the third to the 4th, and throw in a 6th which is whatever.
