2026 College Football Chatter

Unlike the big programs like UT, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, etc who have been doing that for decades.

Exactly, you gave hope to the little guy...

Until you crossed the line into players gambling on their own team. Now you're the devil.

In all seriousness I don't really care. Am I shocked he is going to play? Of course I am, I really thought there was no way a guy who gambled on his own teams would be allowed to basically skirt the system. Somehow he did, which is an issue with college football. I think college football has bigger issues. Like players who stick around for 7 years of eligibility. Once upon a time it was playing sports while in college. Now it feels more like a sports league that has college as an option. At some point I still believe they will get a grip on all this stuff going on.

For the record, Tech didn't know about this when they signed him to the transfer. Cincinnati did but they didn't tell anyone involved, including Tech.

For the record do you buy the excuse Tech is putting out there that they are just trying to help this young kid?

I mean it's kind of a load of crap.

It doesnt matter what they say. Public opinion has already made their minds up.

Besides what else would you expect them to say? They aren't going to come out and say - best chance to win.

McGuire is a players coach, though. I fully believe him when he says he has the best interest of Sorsby. Just listen to him talk and from other players that have played for him in the past.

No, of course not. But, neither would any other school be doing it for that reason either.

Now, McGuire himself absolutely is doing what is best for the kid. There is zero doubt in my mind.

It's more about Kirby Hocutt shoveling a load of horse manure repeatedly...

“I’ve heard the word ‘integrity’ used a great deal in the last 48 hours,” Hocutt wrote. “… The integrity of sport matters. So does the integrity of how we treat a 22-year-old who sought help, entered residential treatment and is working every day toward recovery.

I feel like this is very condescending and insulting. And frankly full of shit. Kid isn't working hard towards recovery. He is working hard to get drafted higher.

i view that akin to political speech. Being the AD he is not going to say anything other than that so dont let it bother you.

As far as Sorsby I understand that its easy to be cynical about his sincerity but just maybe he is. I have my doubts as well but Im going to wait and see.

I'm willing to bet if he were a shit QB like Jackson Arnold they'd have no interest in helping him recover.

I mean it would be like a politician basically saying no one has integrity for wanting to punish someone who committed a serious crime. It's condescending.

100%

And I'm not blaming Tech for wanting to play the kid. They spend a fortune on the team. No one wants to flush that money down the toilet because they found out the QB they hitched their wagon to was doing bad shit.

The first two minutes of this video make me ashamed to be a Red Raider. Schovanec is a fucking piece of shit. Him and his wife both. He started in upper admin as an associate Provost. He then somehow managed to make his way to the President's position, but I have had interaction with this jackass for many years since he has been at Tech. His wife (who rides a bike to work) went crying to her husband one time when I moved some bike racks (according to a master plan we created and got approved by the university) and almost got me fired. Over a fucking bike rack. They are not good people.
