How do players not get absolutely gang stomped in the locker room for shit like that?

I just don't understand the obsession with these guys to empty their hands as quickly as possible.

Is there something that the NFL isn't telling us? Do these footballs have an internal timer set to go off and explode if it's held too long after crossing the goalline?

It's ridiculous how often this happens now in both the NFL and NCAA.

It wasn't all of them, but it was like 3/4, and he was definitely the most egregious issue on all three of them.
