McVay fired his ST coach after they gave up a punt return TD to Seattle late in the 4th, which was the only reason they got back in the game.

I have no idea how good or bad the Rams ST unit was prior, but that's what a serious coach does.

With someone like Flores we're going to have to wait and see if he gets an HC spot or not, even if he doesn't want to stay in Minnesota. With someone like Leonhard he's probably going to want to wait until he sees what happens with Joseph and a possible HC spot, if Joseph leaves Leonhard would be the DC in Denver, which is probably preferable to somewhere else.

The only thing that could happen quickly in my opinion is jumping on a position coach on a team where there isn't likely to be any major movement, or someone currently out of the league/in college.

Yeah, what’s most disturbing about their process is there needs to be a protocol for when a coordinator is on thin ice. You don’t want Eberflus conducting exit interviews. I mean, come on. If there’s a hint that a coordinator might be out the door, you need the HC to conduct the exit interviews. Just the same have McClay run whatever exit interviews a HC ‘under consideration’ would have been running.
