Yea but it seems straightforward to me, Overshown is on IR or whatever, we keep Murray, Sanborn, Liufau, James and Clark.

Can't really see how they can justify keeping a 6th on top of that, if anything it'd make more sense to only keep 4 and getting rid of Clark but that seems unlikely.
 
Also this. Seems to be in lockstep with Dak in the playoffs.

Another problem is that many of his sacks are in garbage time. How many times have we said "why is he still in the game" when the game's already been decided? The Jets game a few years ago comes to mind. He hangs around to pad his sack totals.

If he wasn't padding stats in garbage time during the season, maybe he would have more gas in the playoffs.

Someone has to be equipped to manage the player.
 
The franchise tag paying the average of the top five salaries at the position doesn't seem so unfair to me.

That does bug me a little. Several times on those "Sounds From the Sidelines" we're already winning big, it's a huge blowout, and he's saying, "Time to get paid!"

They seemed to have it pretty well figured out with Tyron back in the 2010s, as far as team-friendly and player happy deals go. Recognize elite talent and potential, sign early long-term deal.

Show the player you appreciate him by paying him in a timely manner and he won't have to be the highest paid to be happy.

I guess being bent over on those like the Zeke and ClearEye deals soured that vibe.

That's what sucks about having a GM who can't be fired.

This guy can't be run out of town, he just turns the risk knob down on his money-making machine and has time to spin the media interest up to generate even more $.

Why would you care if you spent an extra $50million on a contract to make a guy the highest paid in the league when your football team increased in value by close to $3billion last year alone?

I believe this is all a sideshow story to keep fans engaged WWF-style, because he's gotta do things his way.

We've all been sucked.
 
He was never that fast to begin with, and now he has a bum knee. Not good.

It was a huge, career-altering mistake affecting many Cowboys.

Dallas has problems grasping that just because they pay a lot or high draft capital doesn't mean a position is taken care of. You've gotta be drafting that person's replacement as soon as possible. This can remove some of the insane leverage single-point-of-failure star players have.

Pollard was a great draft pick, but he should have been the second after another two years earlier. There should be at least two QB's and a small army of running backs capable of starting at any given time
