2025 Draft Chatter Thread

Wonder who that was? Last year it was a TE...
I guess he couldn't say since the contract isn't signed yet. But he said he and four others who agreed are headed this way.

Listening to the PC, Schotty is truly a good dude. Not a fake nice guy like Garrett, but legitimately a good guy.

He might be too nice for the Joneses. They kind of treat him like a lap dog during these things. Jerry has given him several verbal pats on the head, which is kind of condescending IMO. I hope he has some bite behind the scenes when needed to back Jerry off a little.

Anyway... Goof Son just said Eberflus said he was blown away at how much the draft process has evolved since he was here last. I wonder what is so different. Also, Goof Son with the shoutout to John Park. :unsure

I didn't get to see the last couple of hours of it all.
Realistically and honestly, who feels good going into the season with our running game?

What do you consider feeling good?

Competing for the playoffs? Sure.

Being a true contender? No.

But I think the running game will be fine due to the strength of our interior OL, even if the RB talent is average.

Yeah I will say, Booker makes me feel better about Blue and Mafah. I actually think Blue is a really explosive play maker. Mafah is sort of the combo to grind out the tough yards. I'm good with the run game. Sure we don't have a 20-25 carry guy. But I think Blue can be sort of similar to Gibbs for us.

I’m not sure this team did enough in this draft to make a strong run at the playoffs. They desperately need a true #2 and I still think they are really hurting at DT. Can they fix that by signing a couple veterans? They probably can but Goof and PT think everything is just fine. Jesus their PCs are embarrassing.

I'm guessing they view Blue similar to Pollard when they took him.

Both got very few touches in college but were explosive when they did, both are change of pace guys who you pair with more physical players, both are very good receivers out of the backfield, neither was a clear bell cow coming out but there's potential to develop into that if they can improve in a few areas.

The big difference is Blue has elite timed speed (4.38) compared to Pollard's 4.52.

They really are. It's sickening how happy they are with themselves. They really believe they're kicking all kinds of ass with this player acquisition and team building stuff.

If these things bother you guys so much, why do you watch them? :lol Why watch an old man fellate himself? I don't think I've watched a Jerry presser in 20 years or more.

Been Driving all day on vacation. Just made it through the chat. Blue, Toia, and Mafah were players I liked. WTF on the trade up for the CB sized LB(slight hyperbole but not by much). The DT and OT at least look like they could develop. Weird that they passed on so many RBs. They were determined not to take a WR so they could prove everyone wrong.
That’s going to be their big trade. The dude from Detroit.

Jameson Williams, although I'd be pretty surprised.

Just sign Keenan Allen or Amari Cooper who can both operate as relatively high floor/low ceiling WR2's and hope one of these young jokers develop.
Not sure they’d bring Cooper back after why they let him go. Not sure about Allen.

I watched two games of Toia from last year (LSU and Indiana) and was pretty surprised at the type of first step quickness/burst that he has. I'm not sure if he was guessing on the snap count or if he noticed something that helped him get off, but there's a little something there.

He'll never be much of a pass rusher because he doesn't have the athleticism/quickness to win consistently over 3-4 seconds, but that first step quickness could definitely show up against the run.

And obviously he's mostly solid against the run at 340, so I can see why most people had him in the 4th/5th range.

notwithstanding all the hupla about Sanders being drafted by the Cowboys, can he help the team? I think perhaps he can but it will have to be as someone who will be grooming for a full start real soon. I can’t quite see how that is going to play out.

They burned a bridge with Amari. Allen may be all there is.
