My biggest concern is that they use this as an excuse to not draft anyone at RB.
Cheap Steve may have figured out how much money he can save by passing on our first round pick. And then there's those long 5 year contracts... Such a long commitment.

Seriously, I always thought Sanders was kind of overrated anyway, and now he's used up. Oh well, if it's cheap enough I don't guess it hurts much.

He's still going to cost too much for what these guys are willing to spend.

He was hurt last year, but still on a 95-1000+-9 TD pace.
I kind of wish Jerry would intervene this one time.

God I hate myself for saying those words.

What is with this team’s absolute infatuation with signing RBs that can’t crack 4 ypc?

Could be the Royce Freeman of this year.

But, he seems cooked and he's going to be 28.

Hell I want to see two RBs drafted or at least a second draftable guy from UDFA.

He hovered around 5 YPC throughout his rookie deal with the Eagles and then fell off a cliff in Carolina despite not being that old or having that much wear and tear on him.

I think it's possible he bounces back as a nice rotational guy on a more talented roster.

We're going to draft a RB relatively high either way, but I think between Williams and Sanders we should have enough cover now to where if we wait until the 3rd we should still be fine.

A 3rd and Javonte Williams could go sideways, a 3rd, Williams and Sanders should be enough to where the cream will rise to the top.

If we do that I hope we go third and fifth at RB. With the depth in this class, it wouldn't be shocking if the fifth rounder turned out better than the third rounder. Then have 4 guys compete for 3 roster spots. Sanders could always get tucked on the practice squad or something.

What I don't get is that if we supposedly "went hard" after Kupp, you have to imagine that means a deal somewhere around 10/year. We supposedly were in on Brandon Stephens who got 3/36, so presumably we were also in the 10/year range on him.

If they're willing to pay that much for those guys, why not guys like Leonard Floyd, Dre'Mont Jones, or hell even re-signing Jourdan Lewis even though it would've been an overpay?

That would be ideal, yes.

You're making sense but I don't trust the team to do things that make sense.

I don't think we have ever been in on Kupp. But I will say things have happened quick this offseason for us. Didn't know we would go and get two solidish LBers for example until it was done. But so far I'm not sure we have shown any interest at WR. Not sure what that means or it could just mean we have no idea until something happens.

If they don't spend a top 3 pick on a RB I'll change my tune, rolling with Williams/Sanders and a 5th is not a recipe for success, unless someone like Devin Neal or Dylan Sampson somehow drops to the 5th.

But I really can't see them waiting that long on a RB.

Looks to me like some agent used Schefter and other media people to try to drive up the price of their client.

Edit... time-damn-stamped again.

Fuckin’ A right.

This guy was the de facto leader of the defense for a large part of his tenure. Let me just say I was not impressed.

Resigning that guy instead of trading him was a massive mistake, could have parlayed him into a first and a third and a ton of cap space.
