So I think we can safely say that "selectively aggressive" means signing more or less the same type of Olawale's they've always gone after in FA, just in a more expedited fashion.
Why would anybody take anything they say seriously?

Ever heard of the saying "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me?"

Holy fuck. How should "Fool me 25 times..." be completed?

I don't think anyone expected different. It's a venting process annually, that's all.

Like being pissed when we get bounced early from the playoffs if we make the playoffs. No one should expect different, but we still bitch.

Carry on.

I don't think they were lying about "selectively aggressive", they have been more aggressive than years past, just with the same cheapness.

I don’t really have an issue with the acquisitions.

These have been body swaps and it depends on the player on how we did.

Combined, it is a wash except at CB, where we better do something soon.

It's not an abject disaster like last offseason, but they need to sign someone who can credibly start at either WR, LB, DL or CB.

Not a single one of the signings are guys who can seamlessly step in as a starter like Gilmore and Cooks two years ago.

I watched some all-22 of Thomas and Turner because I don't have anything better to do and the good news is Thomas is a legit rotational piece (which I guess is why they splurged with the 2-year deal), and the bad news is Turner looks like a complete fucking stiff, particularly against the run.

Turner shows a little bit of juice as a pass rusher, although he's still pretty shit, but he looks absolutely terrible setting the edge. Terrible gap leverage, slow to react, consistently lets runners get to the perimeter.

Thomas on the other hand looks like exactly the guy I was expecting, has a bit of explosiveness/burst as an undersized interior rusher, does a nice job on twists/stunts, and can even make some plays in the run game with his quickness on the interior but he lacks the size to hold up consistently at the POA. He played about 70-75% of his snaps last year on the interior and about 25% on the edge.

I just hope they make a concerted effort to add another talented pass rusher, whether a DE or DT, because Thomas is a guy who you probably love as your 5th best rusher, but if he's your 4th best you're probably left always wanting more.

1 year deal worth up to 3 million with 2 million guaranteed. All of these deals are very uninspiring.
These are ‘fielding a viable team’ signings. Hopefully they free us to draft the best players available at positions of greatest need

Then you must be a cowboys fan….

At least they made these deals earlier. In previous years they waited 2-3 weeks to make these deals.

Lotta pie for a fucking punter. Hard to believe you can’t just find one of those outta college in FA after draft
