Guyton made a bunch of mental errors last year, he needs that coached out of him, plus he needs a bunch of work in the weight room. How he looks physically coming into next year will tell me a lot, he has the frame to hold some really good weight but if he looks like a doughy schlub again I won't be too enthused about his chances.
For what it's worth Schottenheimer called praised him a few weeks ago for being in the weight room every day so we'll see.
I was talking about Kneeland and Sam Williams.
I'm less worried about Guyton. He's not coming off of a season ending injury and I didn't think he was that bad.
Plus if things get real bad they can always slide Tyler Smith over. We can cover Smith's spot with Bass, Hoffman, Richards, or Jones or whomever.
We just had to let Chuma walk or we would be fine.
They have to bring another body in at T you would think.
I don't think so, I think the plan is to have Guyton/Smith at LT, and Steele/Guyton at RT, with Richards potentially providing cover at LT as well.
The Jones signing just provides extra depth on the interior in case Smith has to move out to LT, with Bass, Hoffman, Jones and Richards.
So you think of Guyton gets dinged they'll just slide Smirh over for a game or two? Or probably Asim in short term I guess. Long term then slide Smith over.
So we have 3 picks in top 76. They need to find 3 starters there. We don't really need to go for OL or LB that high.
WR, DT, RB and CB.
I've been saying it for weeks and will continue to do so. We need to draft 2 RB's. This draft is so loaded. Some freaks.
It's interesting that Murray's cap hit for 2025 is $7.4M, yet they seem completely unwilling to sign an external FA in the same range, and they could've gotten some really good ones who are arguably better players than Murray on a 1 year deal in the $8M or so range.
That probably goes back to Stephen's constant lusting over 5th round comp picks.
I think DE is arguably right there with DT.
At DE you have Parsons (who shouldn't be wasted on run downs to begin with), Kneeland and Williams. I'm not counting Turner at the moment because I think he's a pure flier.
At DT you have Osa and Mazi, with Thomas presumably splitting his time somewhere along the lines of 75% on the interior and 25% at DE.

Very rude! Not trying to be rude, but this is not a new topic of conversation around here.

No surer path to success than going into a draft needing starters at multiple positions and watching your must-have positional parlay get blown up by pick 5 of the first round. So we have 3 picks in top 76. They need to find 3 starters there. We don't really need to go for OL or LB that high.

Adios.
