I've never heard it applied to coordinators and QB coaches. That seems like it's not enforced at all. Or teams just claim the minority candidate was interviewed for head coach and coordinator before they pick the real head coach and hire the coordinator he wants.

It looks like this was implemented in 2020 as an adjustment to the original rule, so maybe we just didn't notice. Did we interview an external minority before hiring Zimmer? I don't remember that.

Sam Darnold proves that garbage time stats takes skill. Give Dak Prescott his due.

I guess this escaped me. Absurd.

"Other changes to the rule include requiring interviewing at least two external minority candidates for head coaching vacancies and one external minority candidate for coordinator positions. The Rooney Rule is also applicable to senior level front office positions and vacancies for the quarterbacks coach, a common pipeline for future head coaches."
I had no idea it extended to even QB coach. Good grief.

But is it any surprise these changes were made in that wonderful year of 2020?
