They'd rather have a lame duck season than pay a HC for a year without coaching.

So they sunk the season and made decisions with an eye on 2025 and nobody can convince me otherwise. They always fuck around in FA but this year was even more egregious than usual.

I bet they already had a backdoor conversation or two with Belichick during the offseason to gauge interest.

I'm 100% convinced that's exactly how they went about doing things.

I don't think it matters whatsoever who Jerry brings in after McCarthy. The culture of dysfunction and absence of purpose saturates this organization from top to bottom. I actually think it's too much for even the likes of a Belichic.
Belichick with his stooges in tow do not inspire me either.

yup. There is no hope.

If you had an elite QB maybe you could slide into some success despite the front office, but… our QB sucks.

Despite everything, people really need to be putting on pressure with McCarthy’s offense. They looked like shit even in trash time when the other team is celebrating a cake walk.
The best they looked all day was Rush's first drive. Facts.

He is not evaluating that or anything else.

They already decided to keep him after the playoffs last year with the idea of letting him walk after this season.

It'll take a Phillips-like collapse where they're like 4-8 or something for them to get rid of him. As long as they're hovering around .500 he'll remain because they know he's gone in about 3 months anyway.

Exactly.

I'd have our guys playing to hurt at this point?

Oh, you wanna rub it in? Ok, you're going to do so at the risk of your players' health.

That would cost them money. They're not going to do that. It's all they care about.

Id like someone to ask Campbell if he considers that hook and ladder to Penei Sewell bad sportsmanship.
