I think Detroit is a good bit better than Philly but teams that go on ridiculous runs like they did usually come back down to Earth and struggle to recapture that form.
Campbell's dumbassery is an issue in big games too.
Easy to forget Aidan Hutchinson is out
What a stupid fucking call. Kick the FG. They are sooo lucky they picked that up. I've been wanting Detroit to win all night. But with that call, wanted them to lose. Was hoping they'd fucked up when Goff stumbled.
He obviously has zero faith in his D keeping the Pack out of FG range.Yep, totally stupid. It's a shame they didn't get stuffed and GB didn't kick a FG to win the game.
DC has the biggest balls in NFL history. Not always a good thing.
Jimmy Johnson was as aggressive of a HC as I've ever seen, but there was a method to the madness.
Dan Campbell, on the other hand, is just aggressive to be aggressive. In just the last season and a half alone, he's had about 5 or 6 really questionable calls with the 2 most blatant ones costing him wins vs the Cowboys and of course, a trip to the Super Bowl.
He's going to lose another high profile game due to a stupid decision because he just can't help himself.
I don't think it was stupid. It was absolutely consistent. There’s aggressive, but that was flat out stupid
All of your made up percentages are meaningless.I don't think it was stupid. It was absolutely consistent.
What makes everyone think it was stupid is the outrageous play the safety made the play before that stuffed the 3rd down try. He's not doing that again.
1) If you kick:
a) and score (95%), with over a minute left to play the Packers are (60%) likely going to score a FG to tie because they will always go for it and might even (10%) score a TD and win. If they do score a FG, though you still have two timeouts and might get the ball back in time to kick your own FG to force overtime (10%)
b) and miss (5%), the Packers drive for a FG and win 60%, though you still have two TO's as mentioned before
2) If you go for it 4th and a foot
a) and miss (35%), the Packers (60%) get a FG in regulation, two TO's though
b) and make it (65%), you run the clock and kick and win (95%)
4) In overtime you have a 50% chance
That's mostly a wash and actually favors going for it. Given that it's Dan Campbell's very identity is going for it, it was a given he was going to try.
