2024 Season | Week 12 | Gameday Chatter Thread | Cowboys @ Redskins | 11/24/2024

I think we've talked about this before. But I think the ridicule against him isn't really against him so much as what he represents. Which is the team's half hearted, dollar store efforts to upgrade the roster instead of spending real money.
While I agree with that, we should still be mining the unknowns. The Cowboys were masters of that back in the day of Landry and Schramm. And we still are very successful with UDFAs.

With that and our recent successes in the draft, if we were even just half assed in FA, we'd be contending. But unfortunately, we are stupid when it comes to FA. Teams need all three phases to build a contender. We apparently think we can sit on a two legged stool.

Would've been so delicious if he'd missed that FG.

I'm more convinced than ever after today.

The O-line going forward should be Smith / Bass / Beebe / Martin (Hoffman next year) / Guyton (or Richards)

Exactly. Turpin was basically free. Even if you are spending big in FA, you'd still take a free player who contributes as much as he does.

Totally agree.
