Yeah I don't believe that was the issue (other than they wanted a year contract for whomever they hired).

I honestly think and I could be wrong that this was a McCarthy decision ultimately, and McCarthy is very familiar and comfortable with Zimmer from having played in the same division for so long.

In retrospect I wish they hired Rex as of right now since things are so bad.

But there's a reason that Rex is still sitting in a studio instead of standing on a sideline and no I don't think it's because he's choosy about the situation he goes to.

I think he's been out of football coaching for so long because of his mouth and attitude and it's on full display right here.

And I'm not convinced if they did hire him things would be all that different on the field, but off of it there would be a lot more chaos and there may be an even higher chance of things falling apart because there's no doubt in my mind that Rex would be back stabbing McCarthy every chance he got to try and worm his way into replacing him.

Rex ain't winning with the players either. And we already tried a Ryan brother as D coordinator. Not good.

I don't know if he was hamming it up or what but if you're limping that bad and not using your ankle at all, you probably should be in a walking boot. He literally looked like he was walking with a walking boot on, despite not having a walking boot on.
 
At least 11 has an excuse when TJ Watt makes him look like Shante Carver.

He should have his snaps in the base defense limited anyway, so maybe he sits a week and then you use him as a designated pass rusher of sorts.

Combined with the return of Bland it could make sense to take a little bit of a pass rush hit to boost the run defense as the secondary improves.

If Gholston plays DE, who exactly is giving Osa a rest?

Also pretty brutal to be without your top 3 DE's from the start of the camp. That seems like a pretty brutal injury bug at that position.

My thing is how on earth Goof Son will go out and sign a couple guys off the street. Seems like work.
