There is no excuse for not having this deal done already. These dumb mfs waited and waited until they lost whatever leverage they may have had. The price is the fucking price. They have no choice but to pay the man what he wants. Quibbling over minor details jeopardizes the beginning of the regular season.

My point though is that other than Brees (and Archie Manning) the Saints haven't exactly had great QBing during that stretch.

We are our own special brand of stupid but at least you can make sense of not drafting a QB in the first (even if you disagree with it) when the team already has Romo and/or Dak, which has been the large majority of the post Aikman years.
There was a considerable gap between Aikman and Romo . And it was fugly.

Not a considerable gap at all. I think it was about 5 years.

Now think about how long most teams go between franchise QBs.

5 years is a blink of an eye.

80 games is a blink?
Maybe in context of a 30 year drought, but that was a long time to wander in the NFL wilderness.

It's kind of funny but the time seems so much longer than that. The Quincy/Chad Hutch years feel so much longer.
  1. Quincy Carter
  2. Anthony Wright
  3. Ryan Leaf
  4. Clint Stoerner
  5. Chad Hutchinson
  6. Vinny Testaverde
  7. Drew Henson
  8. Drew Bledsoe
Ugh....

Yes, whether you put it in number of games to make it seem longer, it's a blink.

Again, compare to what a lot of other franchises endure. It's basically no time at all.

That blink is what you say today, years after the fact.
At the time, I bet it didn’t feel like a blink.
Also, consider that Romo was an UDFA and the drafting hubris is even worse.

Figures NoDik would dur me … such a prick
It was for the comment not having anything to do with what you replied to. Not the comment itself, smart guy. Geng was talking about the gap in the Saints taking QBs. Comprehension is tough for you, I guess. Our trade for Lance has ZERO to do with that.

I have no problem with anyone being against the Lance trade.
