I'm at the point where I think Dak knows he doesn't have what it takes to win it all so he feels he may as well wring every dime he can get out of Dallas.

Yep. I've thought for a while that Dak's self-confidence isn't what he tries to portray.

But you can't blame the player and his agent for trying to get every penny they can. That's their job.

It's up to the team to not give in to them.

Yea, I'm completely fucking out on that asshole if the extension is 3/180. He has to give some consideration either in the form of AAV (I'd say about 45-50 over 4 years is fair) or years (if he wants to push for 55-60 it needs to be a 6-7 year deal).

If he doesn't give on either, while he knows damn good and well that he should be giving up some consideration if he wants to win a Super Bowl, then he's just a greedy, lying piece of shit.

I think Lewis sucks as a top 3 guy but as a 4th corner you could do a lot worse. So I don't mind if Lewis comes back but there always seems to be injuries and especially with Diggs coming off a major one it just makes sense to bring back the good solid veteran (Gilmore) who stabilizes the unit and knows what it takes to win.

Lewis is fine as a slot CB, he was basically our slot CB all of last season, he just can't play outside so you're limited in your options if he's one of your top 3 guys with nothing but Eric Scott behind them.
 
I don't know why a QB that shits himself in the playoffs deserves a raise more than the 3-6% most other working stiffs get.

I don't know why you wouldn't try to resign him. We are basically in the exact same position we were in last offseason without him. You traded for him in that circumstance to make sure you had the corner depth you wanted. Without him it's back to Bland and Diggs. And I love both of those guys but you need 3 corners. So why would you not bring back a guy who won't even cost you a draft pick? And maybe we do bring him back, but Stephens comments give zero indication of that.

My thing is, do you really want to be dealing with this again in 2 to 3 years? Like either you want to be here for the rest of your career and cement yourself in Dallas with a legacy or you want to continue to shoot for a big pay day every 3 years. Dak is what, 30 years old? Like he wants another shot at leaving when he is 33 or 34 for another big pay day?

Anyway, I'm bitching and I don't even know what Dak is asking for. But like I said, this either needs to be a 6-7 year type deal and we are married to Dak. Or we just need to start exploring options to trade or move on from him. If the guy wants a three year extension I'm out (Not that I have any idea if that's what he is requesting). I know a 3 year 120 mil extension isn't realistic. So I'm not really going to consider that as a possibility. You either want to be married to the guy until he retires or you don't. And if you don't know by now, get what you can and move on. To me, either side wanting a 3 year deal tells me this just isn't going to work.

Unfortunately it's the market and deserve has nothing to do with it.

There are 32 teams and something like 15 or so viable starting QBs so if you are in that top 15 or so, most teams just bend over because it's so hard to replace.

This stuff is such bullshit. :lol This sort of thing is about as legitimate as PFF rankings. I don't know why anyone would take it seriously or a reporter would report it as if it has even a modicum of meaning.

The real football people in the organization have to know they can't win a Super Bowl with a QB like Dak.

The only reason this guy will get a huge extension is to keep the fanbase tricked into believing he can.

No kidding. As if these players aren't pampered enough.

If these pros did two-a-days in the Texas heat and had basic locker rooms like we total spares did, the Florios of the world would want the owners thrown in prison for life.

Gilmore was just one of many, but he did look lost at sea on some GB's pass routes. On the other hand, the whole organization is lost at sea.
