He's still a Pro Bowl caliber player even if you have to deal with the annoying injuries, and we're uniquely situated with a guy like Tyler who can easily kick out to LT when needed.

It's not his fault the coaches were morons last year and kept starting Edoga when Tyron was out. If we resign Tyron I think we'll be in a very similar situation as we were in 2022 when we had a starting caliber backup OG in McGovern (now Bass) who can take over at LG with Tyler moving out to LT when needed.

The instability is too much to deal with and it almost outweighs the fact he can still lock people down. But watching his health week to week, it is not something we should have to deal with every week.

Yea it's definitely annoying as hell, it probably comes down to what sort of salary he'd come back on but we won't have any idea on that obviously.

We could mitigate some of the injury risk by making him a swing tackle, lightening his load a little, and he'd still have value.

I'll take it. To get 14 years of solid production from a player, injuries notwithstanding, and then come away with a 5th round pick is not bad.
 
So Danny thinks that Dak is a diamond surrounded by trash. He probably looks on his own career that way as well. :doh

I mean if I was getting a fourth absolutely. If I'm getting a backup who won't make the roster. Screw that. Bell is young and cheap. I think he is better than Thomas. I'd rather a backup to Wilson and Hooker for the next two years cheap. Unless it's a real pick.

Agreed. I would take a fifth or probably even a 6th for him. But I wouldn't trade him for someone else's backup.
