I'd be shocked if McCarthy left if Jerry offered him an extension or some sort.

Shocked?

Even if the Bears or Saints come calling? Both whom would offer him much more autonomy and much less bullshit than what he has to deal with in Dallas?

If he got other offers, I wouldn't be surprised one bit of he took them over staying in Dallas.

I think if Mike were like a Parcells or a Sean Payton who cared about his career and his image above all, he'd get out.

But I don't think he's like that. He'd probably stay to "finish what he started" and all those things. But I don't think it would be a good move.

I don't think it would be out of the question for Mike to turn it down. He could be tired of the bullshit in Dallas.

It is so far out of the question that it's honestly not worth the speculation. I think that there's a near zero chance McCarthy would turn down an extension if it's offered.

Yes, I'd be SHOCKED.

If there's any truth whatsoever to fisher's report (which I doubt), it's just McCarthy's agent trying to drum up a raise in any McCarthy extension.

It would be funny if Fat Mike was like, nah, I can go coach the Bears.

The only thing is that I don't think he would be a A-lister this offseason.

Please, Jesus (And Odin), please let this happen. And then, if I may be so bold, Lord (and Odin), help him win a Super Bowl in his first season with Chicago.

Would be a great hire for Chicago in my opinion. An organization like that needs to stop screwing around with unknowns and just get a proven dude that you know can win in the NFL.

Especially when they’ve made it clear they aren’t going to do jack shit to improve this team ..

We, as fans, see it very unambiguously, imagine how much more so Mike does.

Personally I'd get some assurances that the front office makes an honest effort to add proven, talented players to the roster before I agreed to return.

You're not going to close the talent gap on teams like the Lions and Eagles by relying solely on the draft.

I think McCarthy has done enough to make himself a desirable HC candidate elsewhere. I've been saying for a couple of years now he's basically Sean Payton and Mike Tomlin but with a worse PR rep.

It's like that old "flirting vs. harassment" meme.

Yeah, I don't think it would be a good career decision either, unless his plan is to remain status quo.

As the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, you're always going to have to fight with one-arm tied behind your back because of how the team is ran.
