Yes, this is random. But I'm watching this old Kentucky-Tennesse game on Origin Sports and Hendon Hooker looks 100x better than Will Levis. I mean, it's not even close. (Levis doesn't look like anything special at all IMO.) In an alternate universe where we don't re-sign Dak, why can't we trade for Hooker? Even if it costs a lot. His value shouldn't go up just sitting behind Goff.

And especially if McCarthy is let go, which we know he probably will be. Hire Ben Johnson, trade for the QB who already knows his system, profit.

I wanted to draft Hendon Hooker in the 2nd round, but honestly Trey Lance makes that impossible.

Is there a chance Lance is actually a player?

Not after Lance shows he can't play.

If I were a scout, I would have Hooker way above Lance. I still don't understand how Lance was a #3 overall. It's stunning to me.

I'm secretly rooting for Lance, but that whole deal reeks of the early 2000s qb search/adventure.

Wasted pick, wasted time, all in the name of dumb luck and hope.

You're such a slut for Hooker. Fun fact, Hooker is 2 years older than Lance. I'd put them both in the category of totally unproven. But we will know a lot more about both guys after this preseason. And none of it will matter because Dak is going to be our QB for the next 4 years.

For the sake of a 4th rounder, I hope this kid has healed and learned some shit after sitting behind Dak for a year. I know it's beyond realistic, but god damn, Dak is the poster child for us getting beyond fortunate after Tonys body broke down quickly after signing a fat contract.
