They should just trade or let go anyone who demands any kind of big contract.

Then they could concentrate on making Blue Star Industries the biggest conglomerate in Texas history.

Where do I get BSI t-shirt?

We could pay it, but who is going to be throwing him the football in 2025? Seems like a luxury spend for a team that's just going through the motions this year. Might as well start loading up picks for the post-Dak/McCarthy era.

You don't think they'll pay Dak?

I just can't see their letting him go for basically nothing.

Not even joking when I say this.

I think Baker would actually be a steadier playoff QB. Dak kills him in the regular season but Baker's level of play in the postseason doesn't plummet nearly as much as Dak's.

And way more affordable which presents other opportunities.

That's what's so frustrating about this Dak situation. He's clearly one of those QBs who needs a lot of talent around him to thrive.

He should be on a contract similar to Baker's. $35M - $40M per year since he's better.

I think Mayfield's numbers are misleading.

He's been pretty pedestrian in the regular season so it's hard to plummet far from that.

Also, he's had 2 goodish playoff games out of 4, so Mayfield hasn't exactly killed it either in the playoffs.

And based on track record, he's far less likely to get there than Dak. Dak has made the playoffs in 5 of 8 seasons (62.5%). Mayfield has made the playoffs 2 out of 6 (33%).

I get the contract part of it but I don't think we'd be helping ourselves with Mayfield.

I agree with what you're saying.

I was just pointing out that with Mayfield you know what you're going to get in a playoff game. Whereas with Dak it's a lot more hit or miss.

IMO it's easier to shatter Dak's confidence than Mayfield's. If Dak struggles the first few possessions of a playoff game, it feels like he usually doesn't bounce back.
