So who is way wrong, Jonathan Jones or @betonline_ag?

Getting worried. Hopefully Jerry didn't guarantee Quinn that his job is waiting for him regardless.

Funny how Dan Quinn was the man around here a short time ago, now he's dog shit.

I mean in terms of that list, he is the best option the Skins have. But I agree, his stock among fans has plummeted really quickly. It's recency bias, and recently that was the worst performance most of us have ever seen out of a defense in a playoff game.

I still like him well enough as a DC but 100000% out on him as a HC given the tendencies we've seen out of his defenses here, with the Packers loss being the cherry on top.

And let's not act like the GB game was an anomaly. There were multiple times during the year that Quinn's defense was treated like an ugly chick on a prom date.

It's absolutely hilarious that all these dumbo Redskin fans who spent the last month hyping themselves up over a new era are going to end up with...Dan Quinn, aka white Ron Rivera.
They might end up with worse. No matter who gets that job, they will have a big lift, even though Snyder is gone.

I can't imagine any team going for the old white guy over the younger "diverse" guy -- but especially in DC.

You might be on to something. Harbaugh is the only one over 50 to get hired.
And that's probably because of his rep as an elite team builder. Guy is like the prototype HC. Hires great people underneath him, gives them the space to do their thing, and holds everyone accountable. What he does probably wouldn't be possible in Dallas.

I think most of the league's teams have embraced finding coaches who look at the game different and take more of an innovative approach to coaching.

I don't ever recall there being this many head coaches in the league who are under the age of 40.

Jerry and Stephen Jones don't strike me as the type to put their team into the hands of a 30-something year old coaching prodigy. So the Cowboys will probably always be a step behind when it comes to coaching innovation.

I don't remember you calling him white Ron Rivera when you were talking all timer defense earlier this year.

Would you have been happy he was coaching the skins then?

Analytics took over baseball and it's encroaching on football. So yeah, a younger candidate who grew up with the Internet and such won't resist it as much.

The closest they came to hiring a "youngish" outsider was Gailey. Regrettably, they are a very insular, old fashioned organization that would never hire a young hot shot like McVay or Ben Johnson. They prefer older guys with an established track record or someone they had a previous working relationship with. "Forward thinking" they ain't.

No but since that point we've had a 17 game season and a playoff game where a sport called football is played over several months and the outcomes of which often have implications that shape preexisting opinions and perspectives that were developed prior to those 17 games and subsequent playoff games.

So in short, things change, and fuck off.
