He seems to prefer Daniels. To me, if you want another Bryce Young, go right ahead.

I think Maye is my preference overall, Daniels is very talented but needs an offense that centers around his very specific skillset much like Jackson. I read somewhere that he's a "one read and go" type of QB and I think that's very accurate.

He could and likely will improve on that, but when you combine that with the fact that he had two first round WR's (likely top 20) last year, and that so much of his game is predicated on his running ability while having a very slight/skinny frame, and there's lots of risk there.

I have no problem with his preferring Daniels - everyone has an opinion - but to say he wouldn't even touch two of the top three QBs seems extreme.

Every QB can be picked apart. Hell Stroud was last year even. The last one that was close to a "perfect" prospect was what, Lawrence or Luck?

Listen, just doubt every QB prospect. You'll be right far more often than you are wrong.

Generational QBs are extremely rare. The environment does matter. Some are “ruined” but the vast majority of the time it is a team thinking a player can do X, he can’t, then the staff/GM that pick them get fired, etc. But usually, there is something wrong with how the player is made up mentally.

And let's face it, we all have that concern about Williams. It's his mental makeup. I think a really good coach can help with that. Although I can see an argument that the guys mental makeup is what it is. The physical tools are all there. But the best QB in NFL right now was full of warts too.

I thought Burrow was a better prospect than Lawrence but yea.

Yeah Burrow was definitely picked apart. His arm is closer to average than great and he only really had one great season of production. But that doesn't mean some couldn't see he was a great prospect by the time the draft rolled around.

I highlighted Robinson and Frazier because they're basically my "fail safe's" in the first, if Newton can run a sub-5.0 40 at his Pro Day I might throw him in there too, but I need some confirmed measurements on him because he looks quite small.

I prefer Barton to Frazier for a number of reasons but if we let Biadasz walk and JPJ/Barton are off the board, we better just take Frazier at 24 and not get too cute with it.
 
I bet Robinson goes way before us. One of the centers might be good though.

Not saying it's a lock, that's just my guess because edges always seem to rise more than the early mocks and rankings indicate.

We'll see how he tests but I'd be surprised given that there's some solid edges ahead of him. The big advantage he has is his size, there aren't many DE's with his size who can provide a decent rush off the edge.

Chop being that high is silly. But I'm sure he will work put great so it could happen.

Edgerrin Cooper being that high is a joke too.

But Powers at 29 would be the best available easily in my book at 24.

I have been seeing a number of people say they have Barton and Frazier neck and neck which is interesting. I've always preferred Barton but seems like more of the media guys are pushing them close.

I think Chop is legit but he's smallish and has a bit of a history of nagging injuries. For another team I could see him being worth a pick in the late first but I don't really feel it for us since we need to balance out the defensive depth chart a bit with more size and less of these smaller finesse speed rushers. I also feel like we could get someone close enough to Chop in the 2nd in terms of an Isaac, Booker, Braswell or Kneeland.

As far as Barton and Frazier, I could see the argument for Frazier if you're talking about them being centers only since Frazier has way more experience and isn't as much of a projection. With that said, Barton is way more athletic in space and looks to have more explosive power in the run game. Of course he also has extra value due to his flexibility to play LT and presumably OG, although Frazier might be able to play a little bit of OG too.

I'd definitely take Barton unless his medicals were an issue, but I wouldn't begrudge them for taking Frazier over him (assuming Biadasz walks and we have a glaring hole at center of course) given that he's put up years of high-level play at center while Barton has a few games.

I don't either. I just don't see it. Honestly Wilson is the most impressive. But injury concerns are a thing with him. Supposedly going to run sub 4.5 too.
