2024 College Football Chatter

Come on man.... Are you serious?

The guy just puts his head down to make a tackle. There's no leading with the head or any intent to do anything malicious.

Just because helmets make contact doesn't mean it's targeting.

The NCAA needs to reel this nonsense back.

A lot of traditional powers are struggling with notoriously lesser programs.

Parity is starting to take hold thanks to the transfer portal and NIL.

The win looks great on paper because of Michigan's brand and because they're defending champs, but that's a pretty bland program at the moment.

Not trying to rain on Texas' parade but this is probably one of those wins that come November it won't look nearly as good, as Michigan will probably have 4 or 5 losses by then.

Yeah early season rankings of teams mean nothing.
It use to annoy the hell out of me when at the end of the season when resumes were being compared to determine who gets into the playoffs/BCS, they'd list the Top 25 teams that Team X had beaten.

In a number of cases teams (usually SEC teams) would get credit for having something like 4 wins vs top 15 teams, even though those "quality" wins came against teams that currently had 4 or more losses and were no longer ranked. But just because those teams were overrated in preseason polls in September, teams were still getting credit for beating a top 5 team.

So. Freaking. Stupid.

Notre Dame fighting for their lives vs Northern Illinois.

NIU leads 13-7 with 8:40 to play in the 2nd qtr.
You allow Jason Garrett to call your games, this is what happens.

I agree. It's a complete guess until these teams actually get into the meat of their seasons.

No, I think you're right.

It's just nice to enjoy a dominant win against a big time program like that for the time being.

Let's see what the Colorado Deion's do.

Penn State plays Kent State next week and I'm frightened to death at this point.

I like Penn State and had high hopes for them this year.

Today wasn't the greatest performance but they weren't the only ranked team (Notre Dame, Okie State) to have a letdown against an inferior opponent so hopefully it's just a case of underestimating the opponent.
