Originally I thought a few teams could be protected by each network?? If that's the case the Cowboys would always play on Fox.

At least that was how it was presented as an idea. Looking at the first article I came across it doesn't look like that's the case.

I mean what if there wasn't evidence on the guys side. What if the prosecutors didn't do their job and collect the videos and the witness statements? Do you know how many guys in his position get charged because a prosecutor just takes the girls word for it and never really looks at everything else?

There absolutely should be a punishment for a girl who lies. He could have gone to prison. She should go for lying. But she won't because we protect women who claim to be victims. We do it out of fear that a real victim won't come forward. It's fucked up but there has to be some sort of consequences for trying to ruin someone's life.

That's definitely a real problem. Sending lying accusers to jail is great in theory, but in reality it would cause quite a bit of problems (including that it would essentially guarantee that at least some percentage of actual victims would go to jail, AND it would undoubtedly lead to less convictions for actual criminals).

Yeah, you just have to have some sort of checks and balances. Too often cases like this end with a guy taking a plea deal because there is no video. The officer didn't get witness statements. The prosecutor takes a girl's statement, charges a guy and the defendant sits in jail with a defense attorney who has no evidence to go off of. So they plea to some charge and their life is ruined.

Frankly there is no repercussion for the officer who doesn't actually investigate. There is no repercussion for the prosecutor who files those charges. And in the end everyone just assumes the guy is guilty.

It would be great if it would allow a Good Cowboys game to replace Stinker Browns games in my area.

In this case however there was a bunch of video and that’s what got him off the hook.

With the caveat that I know very little about this specific case, that's generally not proof that the accuser lied.

You're right. But one would hope that people can differentiate between someone completely fabricating a story vs someone who went to trial and was simply found not guilty.
